The face we see first is John Lennon?s, commanding our attention at the centre of the frame. His features are lit up, his right side starkly. Our eyes are drawn to his face because of the lighting, but also because many of us recognise him.
Around the edges of the portrait are posters of The Beatles, as well as John and Yoko, plastered onto walls that recede towards the centre of the illusion. Two figures stand either side, one leaning against the wall, the other playing guitar.
Poignant illusions such as this have become popular poster art in recent years.
