Try looking at this image to find a woman’s face within it. This is a haunting
picture, and if you stare long enough at it, you will see that all is not as it
seems. Our brains are drawn to the overall image and we see the large pale face
and long fingers as well as the dark points framing the top of the head, like
hair. Our eyes take in the light features and then the dark shadows. But look
carefully at the fingers and then again at the face and you will find something
unexpected in the portrait.
