Look at the parts of the triangle in this image. There are four parts, in different colours. They fit perfectly in the first image. Now look at the second image. The partitions are the same, yet there is now a hole. How can this be?
To solve the image, you must see it not as two triangles but as two illusions. The parts that make up the shapes are the same, but the shapes are not exact triangles. The red and green triangles do not have the same sharp angle. So the shapes act differently when they are swapped around.
